Linen-BackingLinen-backing is an expensive, labor intensive process of poster conservation. Linen-backing (the mounting of linen to the back of the original poster) not only adds to the poster's value but also helps preserve its value for the future. It makes the poster easier to handle, prevents damage and keeps the poster in its current mint condition. It is a safe and well-established process which is reversible, if necessary. Almost all fine vintage posters from Toulouse-Lautrec to the present are linen-backed. Most of our Polish art posters are linen-backed, unless otherwise indicated. Prices of linen-backed posters include the cost of linen-backing (a $75+ value).
